Amy Whitell

Amy Whitell has a wealth of experience in business services and development. Amy began their career in 2011 as a Business Consultant, providing project-based work for charities, social enterprises and SMEs. In 2010, they founded, directed and acted as a trustee for Avanti Microfinance, a charity which met a gap in the provision of business finance and services to disadvantaged clients. In 2012, they became the Owner-Operator of Baked Well, a retail leisure business which they sold as a going concern in 2015. From 2016-2017, they worked as a Lawyer for Hill Dickinson LLP and Stephensons Solicitors LLP. Amy then moved on to become the Chief Operating Officer of Twinkl Educational Publishing in 2017. In 2021, they joined FinTech North as an Advisory Board Member, with the primary objectives of bringing together the FinTech community in the north, promoting the north as a FinTech centre of excellence, helping develop the FinTech sector in the north, and aligning to the development of the national FinTech sector. Amy also joined Play It Green as an Advisor and Collctiv as the CEO and Co-founder.

Amy Whitell has an extensive educational background. Amy began their studies in 2004 at The University of Sheffield, where they obtained a BSc in Biomedical Science with a focus in Cellular and Developmental Biology in 2008. In 2012, they returned to The University of Sheffield and completed an MA in English Literature with a focus in Creative Writing in 2015. In the same year, they attended The University of Law and obtained a Graduate Diploma in Law in 2017. In 2018, they completed an MBA (essentials) at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with a focus in Business Administration and Management. Most recently, in 2019, they finished an Oxford Fintech Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, with a focus in Finance and General. In 2021, they obtained a Growth Marketing Programme certification from Startup Core Strengths.
