Emily Smith has a long and varied work experience. Emily began their career in 2004 as Program Director at GDA Integrated Services, where they worked on higher education recruitment, admissions, and enrollment. In 2005, they joined Fire Engine RED as Director of CRM Intelligence, where they created mock-ups, product specifications, and architecture schematics and conducted user research to drive the creation of new features. Later that year, they were promoted to Director of Implementations, where they created and formalized the implementation team and strategy and managed a team of project managers and technical resources. In 2014, they joined BeQuick Software, Inc. as Technical Project Manager, where they were a client-facing account manager and product manager. In 2015, they joined TargetX as Director of Client Success and Client Success Manager, where they were a key strategic partner for their partner institutions and was responsible for clients seeing value in their relationship with TargetX. Finally, in 2021, they joined CollegeVine as VP Higher Ed Partnerships and Director of Community Success.

Emily Smith attended Connecticut College from 2000 to 2004, where they earned their BA. Emily then attended The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in 2004, where they earned a Certificate through the Bridge Program. Additionally, Emily Smith has obtained two certifications from The Success League: Certified Client Success Leader and Certified Client Success Manager.
