Colmena Group is a real estate development and investment company headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The managing partners of Colmena Group have more than 65 combined years of real estate experience, building their reputation on thoughtful stewardship of investment opportunities.

Founded in 2008, Colmena’s mission is to build a legacy of quality, long-lasting communities. We accomplish this daily by investing in various real estate asset classes throughout the intermountain west. Our portfolio includes multifamily, assisted living, commercial office, student housing, research parks, retail, hotel, industrial warehouses, and mixed-use properties. Since its inception, Colmena has developed, co-developed and invested in real estate projects that built a current portfolio value of more than $1.6 Billion (exceeding five million square feet and 11,000 apartment units). Colmena's success is rooted in our ability to understand market need, source capital and work successfully with local and national partners.

At Colmena Group, we believe real estate is more than a piece of land, a building, or a good investment. It’s the foundation for building community. That’s why we look for opportunities to create a sense of place. A community for the people who will live, work, or stay there. A building should solve problems, meet a need, and add value to the surrounding area.

Colmena Group operates under a sophisticated, dynamic model which provides for a leaner team and the flexibility to be creative and selective about the projects we do. We’ve worked with every type of asset from industrial to hospitality to senior housing. Because of our philosophy and flexibility, we can focus on the right assets at the time. Colmena Group is always watching for business trends and market evolutions and has a track record of staying ahead of the curve. We pride ourselves on being nimble and focused on strategic opportunities.
