Color The Block is a Sacramento-based community organization dedicated to empowering underserved and underrepresented communities—particularly youth and families—through art, education, and environmental stewardship. Rooted in South Sacramento, our work focuses on creating equitable access to resources, opportunities, and safe, creative spaces that foster growth, connection, and long-term community resilience.

Our programming is designed to be both culturally relevant and community-driven, integrating hands-on learning with real-world impact. We operate community gardens that serve as hubs for environmental education, food access, and intergenerational engagement, while also leading youth-centered initiatives such as after-school art programs, mentorship, and leadership development. Through workshops, resource fairs, and public events, we connect residents to critical services including digital literacy training, housing and financial education, and health and wellness resources.

Color The Block also leads social impact and advocacy efforts, addressing systemic inequities through initiatives focused on environmental justice, clean air, and community health. By partnering with local organizations, schools, and agencies, we co-create programs that reflect the needs and voices of the communities we serve.

At its core, Color The Block leverages creativity, culture, and collaboration to inspire positive change—building stronger, healthier neighborhoods where individuals and families have the tools and support to thrive.
