Bob O'Connor is a highly experienced clinical genome scientist with a strong background in molecular genetics and microbiology. Currently holding the position of Staff Clinical Genome Scientist at Color since August 2019, Bob has progressed through various roles at the company, including Senior Clinical Genome Scientist and Clinical Genome Scientist. Prior to Color, Bob contributed to clinical informatics at Syapse and served as a Variant Scientist at Color. Bob's extensive experience also includes a significant tenure at Ingenuity Systems, where responsibilities involved identifying and organizing biologically relevant content to support biomedical software applications. Earlier, Bob completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco, focusing on molecular and cellular mechanisms in neuronal development. Bob earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Microbiology from Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from UC Irvine.
