James Coxon is a specialized synthetic biologist with significant experience in leading innovative projects and research in the field of biological methods for pigment deposition. Currently serving as a Special Projects Synthetic Biologist and Senior Research Scientist at Colorifix since October 2021, James has made notable contributions, including the leadership of Project Black, which involves the rational design of bacterial strains for plant pigment production and the management of internal processes and Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS). Prior to this role, James held the position of Research Assistant at the University of Cambridge, where a PhD in Synthetic Biology was earned, building on a Master of Natural Sciences in Molecular Biology from the same institution. James's foundational education was completed at St Paul's School.
