Mekides A. Belie

Mekides A. Belie is an accomplished professional with diverse experience in technology, education, and leadership. Currently serving as a Student Fellow at Black Girls Code since July 2025, Mekides also holds positions including Assistant Coordinator at American Spaces, Mentor with CodeDay, and Member of Rewriting the Code. As a Freshman Liaison for the University of Pennsylvania NSBE Chapter and a Research Intern at the National Science Foundation, Mekides showcases strong engagement in STEM education and research initiatives. Additionally, Mekides is actively involved with ColorStack as a Fellow, leads Corporate Relations for the NSBE University of Pennsylvania Chapter, and contributes as an Ambassador Lead for adplist.org and a Research Assistant at Penn Engineering. Previous experience includes a role as an AI Fellow with Microsoft and the founding of Technoelpis. The dedication to empowering underrepresented communities and a focus on technology and innovation is evident throughout Mekides' career.
