Mike Sweeney

Mike Sweeney is a seasoned professional in environmental conservation and strategy, currently serving as a member of the Director’s Council at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis and a member of the Conservation Advisory Board for Colossal Biosciences. They have held significant roles such as Chief Operating Officer at The Nature Conservancy, where they led transformative initiatives, and as Chief Strategy & Resource Officer at Conservation International in 2025. Their experience includes consulting for the Clinton-Gore campaign, supporting the U.S. Department of the Interior, and serving on various boards, including the California Academy of Sciences and the Wildlands Conservancy. Mike earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in East Asian Studies from Harvard University.
