Ryan S. is a seasoned engineering leader with extensive experience in infrastructure and software development. Currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Column Tax since March 2024, Ryan is focused on creating innovative tax software to streamline the filing process for taxpayers. Prior to this role, Ryan held the position of Engineering Manager of Managers at Stripe, overseeing teams dedicated to maintaining high availability and reliability of core infrastructure. Ryan's career began with foundational roles in software engineering at Electronic Arts and Maxis, followed by key leadership experiences at Quid, where Ryan built a cohesive infrastructure team, and at Habit Industries, which was part of Y Combinator. Ryan's entrepreneurial spirit was evident in the founding of Nifty Tees, a graphical t-shirt site. Ryan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
