Jan Schächtele

Jan Schächtele is the Co-Founder and Managing Director at COMATCH. Prior to this role, Jan was a Junior Project Manager at McKinsey & Company from October 2007 to September 2013. There Jan worked on strategy/lean projects in the energy sector, sustainability projects with a focus on CO2 emissions, and strategy/cost cutting projects for infrastructure and logistic companies. Responsibilities included coordinating and aligning with project leadership team, leading and developing of colleagues, handling of own workstreams incl. analyses (e.g. data sets, interviews) and preparation of results, generating of conceptual end-products (e.g. organizational setups, guidelines), accomplishing client capability building (individual coaching and workshops for management level), conducting of recruiting interviews and recruiting events.

Prior to McKinsey & Company, Jan completed internships at Roche from May 2006 to July 2006, Deutsche Bank from August 2004 to September 2004, and Allianz Pension Partners GmbH from June 2005 to August 2005.

After McKinsey & Company, Jan took a sabbatical from October 2013 to September 2014.

Jan Schächtele has a Ph.D. in Environmental Economics from EBS Universität für Wirtschaft und Recht, an M.B.A. in Finance and Banking and Economic Policy from European Business School Oestrich-Winkel, and has completed exchange semesters in Business Administration and Management at Singapore Management University and Université Laval. Jan is also certified in Motivating and Engaging Employees from LinkedIn.
