Darren Walker has had a long and varied career in web development. Starting in 2000, they worked as an Internet Application Developer for Afiniti, followed by a similar role at Redbanner in 2001. In 2004, they moved to Phones International Group as a Technical Consultant, and held the same role at Peter Jones TV and Phones International in 2007. In 2008, they worked as a Contract Web Developer for Epoq Group, followed by a similar role at ICAEW in 2009. In 2011, they worked as a Contract Web Developer for Priority Pass, and from 2013 to 2022 they worked as a Project Lead Developer for Venntro Media Group, specializing in Ruby, Rails, ColdFusion, and JavaScript. Currently, they are a Senior Ruby Developer at Combinaut.
Darren Walker attended the University of Otago from 1990 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science in Biochemistry.
