Amy Smith is the Regional Senior Vice President for Comcast Cable’s Florida Region, which serves the entire state of Florida and is the largest region in the company. She oversees all of the Region’s business functions focusing on technical operations, engineering, the launch and marketing of new products and services and overall financial performance.
Smith was previously Regional Senior Vice President for Pennsylvania’s Freedom Region (Philadelphia/Southeastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Northern Delaware) as well as for Central Pennsylvania. Prior to that, she served as Area Vice President for Comcast systems in southern New Jersey. During her tenure, the company launched services including Comcast Digital Voice, digital cable, video on demand and HDTV.
Before joining the Eastern Division in April 2000, Smith was General Manager for Comcast’s system in Lake County, Florida. She joined the company in 1994 as a Business Manager in Charleston, South Carolina.
Prior to Comcast, Smith worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Staff Accountant, and for TeleCable Corporation as a Financial Analyst.
Smith is a member of Women in Cable Telecommunications (WICT). In the June 2013, "Cable’s Top Power Players Issue," CableFAX: The Magazine ranked Amy number 5 on its Top Regionals list, noting that, "Smith has the unique challenge of managing a diverse customer base that demands all the latest bells and whistles…and [she] hasn’t wasted any time giving customers what they want." In 2008, she was named one of the most powerful women in cable in CableFAX: The Magazine’s annual list of top women executives.
Smith, a Certified Public Accountant, graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting.
