Circular economy is collaborative and regenerative by design, by nature. Let's design restorative services, products, and businesses.
Comemorar, in Portuguese, includes 2 verbs that refer to basic human rights: to eat and to live (reside). It also resembles "co-memorate", meaning to create memories together.
Humans are makers of meaning. We are always telling stories. "The story creates the systems, and the system creates the story" (Charles Eisenstein).
I want to help write the new stories, and they are collaborative and regenerative. Environmental sustainability dwells on reducing damage: extracting as much as possible, leaving some left, so that one can extract for longer, doing less damage. But, what if instead of doing less damage, we do good, in a regenerative way? It sounds ambitious, but nature has all the technology to inspire us. And, as it turns out, we are nature. We might as well start creating not only with nature but as nature.
Systems thinking, design thinking, permaculture, are all methods we can use to solve complex problems, in collaborative ways. From the linear take-make-break-waste, to circularity: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repair, Rot.
