Ruediger Schmidt

Ruediger Schmidt serves as the General Counsel Europe at Comet Group since January 2019. Prior experience includes roles as an Attorney at Axiom from March 2013 to December 2018, advising clients in the pharmaceutical sector, particularly with Abbott and CSL Behring on commercial, risk management, and compliance matters. Ruediger held prominent positions at Alstom Group from 2012 to 2013 as a Corporate Counsel, overseeing commercial and corporate matters, and at Alstom Power from 2010 to 2011 as Director of Intellectual Property Strategy, managing global patent agreements and IP strategy initiatives. An extensive legal background began at Alstom between 2002 and 2010, where Ruediger contributed to corporate and IP matters. Early career experience includes a Compliance Officer role at Commerzbank AG and positions as a Junior Lawyer at Cohausz Hase Dawidowicz and the Court of Appeals. Ruediger's education includes a Bar exam from the Court of Appeals in Duesseldorf and a Master’s Degree in Law from the University of Freiburg.
