Derrick Russell

Derrick Russell has a diverse work experience. Derrick is currently employed as a Network Engineer at CommandLink since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at RCN Technologies from 2020 to 2023, where they held two roles. As a Network Support Engineer II - MSP/VoIP Specialist, they co-developed cutting-edge solutions, deployed VoIP systems, and managed the LNP porting process. In their role as a Network Support Engineer I - Helpdesk and Provisioning Specialist, they provided support for managed desktops, VoIP phones, and networks.

Before joining RCN Technologies, Derrick worked at Sprint from 2013 to 2020 as a Lead Technician and Wireless Sales Specialist. Derrick excelled in customer service and technical support, earning promotions and raises during their tenure. Prior to that, they worked at Satellite Phone Store from 2011 to 2013, where they served as a Sales/Support Representative and Lead Internet Sales Specialist, managing client accounts and preparing sales contracts.

Derrick also has experience in the landscaping industry, working at Scott Burnett Lawn and Landscaping from 2009 to 2011 as a Lead Landscape Designer and Sales Specialist. Additionally, they worked at All Service Roger TV and Computer Repair from 2008 to 2009 as a TV and Computer Repair Sales and Technician, where they demonstrated proficiency in system administration and computer repairs.

Derrick Russell began their education at Booker High School, where they pursued the Honors/Regents High School/Secondary Diploma Program from 2001 to 2005, earning a High School Degree. Derrick then attended the Sarasota County Technical Institute from 2004 to 2005, focusing on Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. In 2005, Derrick enrolled at the State College of Florida-Manatee-Sarasota, where they studied Computer Science until 2007.

Additionally, Derrick has obtained various certifications throughout their career. In April 2014, they became a Sprint/T-Mobile ASC certified technician. In June 2020, they obtained the Cradlepoint Certified Network Associate, Cradlepoint Certified Sales Associate, and Sierra Wireless Certified Technical Professional certifications. In July 2020, Derrick also achieved the Cradlepoint Certified Network Professional certification. Most recently, in June 2021, they became a Digi Certified Technical Specialist.
