John Freese

John Freese is currently a Trust Counsel at Commerce Trust Company, a position they have held since 2022. Prior to this role, they served as a Compliance Investment Advisor II and a Senior Compliance Monitoring Analyst at Commerce Trust. John’s experience also includes working as a Senior Compliance Analyst at UMB Bank and as a Compliance Analyst at Prairie Capital Management, LLC. They earned a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Law from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where they also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a Graduate Research Assistant. John began their academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Iowa.
