Sam Newing has a diverse work experience spanning from 2009 to the present. They started their career as a Supervisor at The Restaurant Group. They then joined Kent County Council, where they worked as a Graduate Services Sales Advisor and later as a Management Trainee through the Kent Graduate Programme. In their role as a Project Manager at the council, they were responsible for various projects, such as establishing support service contract frameworks and supporting the whole Council Transformation Programme.
In 2015, Sam joined Commercial Services Group, initially as a Project Manager responsible for the end-to-end delivery of business and digital transformation projects. This included implementing an e-commerce platform, optimizing warehouse processes, and implementing a legal service platform. They then progressed to become a Strategic Initiatives Programme Manager, leading key strategic initiatives focused on business growth and transformation. They were involved in joint venture mobilizations, establishing new business offerings, and automating key business processes. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Business Improvement at Commercial Services Group.
Sam Newing earned a Management & Leadership Diploma - Level 5 from the Chartered Management Institute in 2015. From 2006 to 2009, they attended the University of Sussex and graduated with a BA (Hons) in History. Prior to that, Sam attended Chatham House Grammar School from 1999 to 2006.
