Penelope Smith

Penelope Smith is currently the Head of EM Corporate Loan Origination and non-German Schuldschein at Commerzbank, where they originate Schuldschein for non-German speaking corporates across Europe and oversee corporate loan origination for the CEE region. Prior to joining Commerzbank in 2007, Penelope served as an Executive Director at WestLB AG from 1998 to 2007, leading the CEEMA Debt Syndicate team and covering Emerging Markets. They began their career at Standard Chartered Merchant Bank, where they managed syndicated loans from 1987 to 1994, and later worked as an Assistant Director at West Merchant Bank, focusing on Emerging Markets in the 1990s.
