Andrew Walchuk

Andrew Walchuk currently serves as the Policy Director and Counsel for Voting and Fair Representation at Common Cause, a position held since December 2025. Prior to this role, Andrew worked at the U.S. Department of Justice from April 2023 to September 2025 as Chief of Civil Policy in the Office for Access to Justice, as well as Senior Counsel in the same office. Experience includes serving as Senior Policy Counsel and Director of Government Relations at Farmworker Justice (March 2021 - April 2023) and Deputy Voter Protection Director at the Montana Democratic Party (May 2020 - November 2020). Earlier roles comprise litigation associate at Morrison Foerster, refugee policy legal fellow at Human Rights First, and various positions including legal fellow and legal intern at the U.S. Department of State and Lambda Legal, respectively. Academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School, a Master of Arts in Religion with a focus on Ethics from Yale University, and a BA summa cum laude in International Relations, Political Science, and Spanish from the University of Arkansas.
