Common Endeavour is building a party of government - from the ground up.

At once an aspiration and a commitment, Common Endeavour is working to be a political party that Australians can be proud to vote for.

Part of a broad effort across Australia to revitalise democracy and democratic processes Common Endeavour is at heart about political renewal. With a premise that political parties matter to democracy, Common Endeavour is here because Australia’s existing parties of government are not serving their purpose well and as a consequence they are not serving democracy well.

Confidence in our existing parties of government has eroded to the point that they are timid in what they do, not trusted to do better, and along the way they undermine trust in democracy itself. In large part, this is because they are disengaged from the communities that they serve and because the communities that they imagine themselves serving are not reflected in the world in which we live. As a consequence, our existing parties of government fail to both represent the plurality of our society and to harness the breadth of thinking and problem-solving that exists in our communities.

Built on an understanding of Connection as the engine that drives safe, happy, flourishing communities, Common Endeavour is working to revitalise democracy by reconnecting Australian communities with each other, with politics, and with their government. Recognising the importance of connection to our flourishing lets us harness its strengths and helps us face the challenges and pitfalls that can come with connection.
	
Connection is powerful because it simultaneously recognises people’s individual autonomy and our interdependence. This provides a foundation on which to build an organisation that fosters purposeful and productive self-governance.
