Lisa Raye Garlock

Lisa Raye Garlock is an artist and art therapist currently serving as the Education and Art Therapy Director for the Common Threads Project, where they train therapists in trauma treatment methods across several locations, including Bosnia/Herzegovina and Ecuador. They previously worked at George Washington University as a Clinical Placement Coordinator and Assistant Professor from 2003 to 2022, guiding students in art therapy internships and managing the art therapy gallery. Garlock holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking, Textiles, and Psychology from the Rochester Institute of Technology, as well as a Master of Science in Art Therapy from Nazareth College. Currently, they are pursuing a Certificate in Counseling Diverse Populations from The George Washington University.
