John Scherer

John Scherer has a diverse work experience in software engineering roles. John currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at Teachable since June 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at CommonBond.co starting from February 2016.

In 2014, John had two roles in different companies. John first worked as a Software Engineer at Happtique, where they developed services to parse and store HL7 messages. John also implemented OAuth for patient authorization. Later, they joined SocialWellth, which acquired Happtique. In this role, they took on a DevOps position and played a vital role in managing the deployment strategy and ensuring data integrity.

Before that, John worked as a Developer at eFront from June 2012 to January 2014. John diagnosed and fixed bugs, designed and implemented new features, and contributed to database schema design. John also had an internship as a System Analyst at Con Edison in 2011, where they restructured a Co-generation database and managed tickets during heat storm blackouts.

From 2008 to 2012, John Scherer attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science during this time.
