Anna H.

Anna H. has a diverse work experience in education and curriculum development. Anna started their career as an English Teacher at Stafford House International, where they taught English as a Second Language to international learners. Anna then moved on to Steinmetz College Prep High School, where they taught English Language Arts and played a role in program development.

Anna also worked as a Literacy Teacher at SEED Public Charter School of Washington DC, where they taught Reading and Writing Workshop and provided individualized instruction to students. Anna continued in a similar role as a Literacy Teacher at E.L. Haynes Public Charter School, where they developed a connected reading and writing workshop curriculum.

Anna's experience also includes working as a Curriculum Writer and Reviewer at LearnZillion, where they developed and reviewed curricular units for educational projects. Anna later became a Literacy Curriculum Specialist at Growing Readers DC, where they wrote articles on literacy instruction and provided consultation on teacher development programs.

In addition, Anna has experience in the fitness industry as a Group Exercise Instructor and Personal Trainer at MINT Health Club, where they taught group classes and created personalized training programs for clients.

Currently, Anna is employed at CommonLit Inc. as the Chief Academic Officer, overseeing academic strategies and content development. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Product Strategy and Director of Content Development at the same company.

Anna H. obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International/Global Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2002 to 2006. Anna then went on to pursue a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from National Louis University from 2009 to 2010. Anna H. also holds a certification in Secondary Education, grades 6-12, from the Illinois State Board of Education.
