Catherine Porter

Catherine Porter has a diverse and extensive work experience. Catherine is currently the Director of Communications at GIPSE/Global Institute for Psychedelic Science Economics. In 2019, they became a Board Member and later the Board Chair of Pt Reyes National Seashore Association. Catherine has also worked as a Consultant to Philanthropic Foundations at Catherine Porter since 2004. Prior to that, they were a Research Fellow and Director of the Ganges Project at Commonweal starting from 2000. Catherine served as the Executive Director of Friends of the Ganges from 1989 onwards. Catherine also held positions such as Senior Advisor at Psychedelic Science Funders Collaborative starting in 2020, and Board of Directors at Jenifer Altman Foundation from 1994 to 2022. Furthermore, they worked as a Principal Consultant at Collaboration/Impact specializing in strategies, networks, and transitions from 2004 to 2019. Catherine was also a member of the Board of Directors for Global Greengrants Fund UK from 2001 to 2019. Lastly, they served as the Executive Director of West Marin Fund from 2012 to 2017.

Catherine Porter has a B.A. in comparative cultures and cross cultural relations from Justin Morrill College, Michigan State. Additionally, they have studied linguistics and film at both Université Paris Nanterre and Sorbonne. Catherine also pursued studies at the Stanford Institute of Intercultural Communication, though the degree and field of study are unspecified.
