Michael Lerner

Michael Lerner has a strong background in leadership and co-founding non-profit organizations. Michael served as the President & Co-Founder of Commonweal from 1976 onwards, the President & Co-Founder of the Jenifer Altman Foundation from 1993 onwards, and the Co-Founder & President Emeritus of the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts from 1998 until May 2021.

Michael Lerner completed their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government at Harvard University from 1962 to 1965. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Psychology & Politics at Yale University from 1967 to 1971.
