The vision for Community FarmShare sprouted in 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, when a group of community residents in Montgomery County recognized the pressing strains on our local food systems during the pandemic.

Community FarmShare works to create a thriving, equitable, connected food system that produces food, health and well-being for people who have the least access to healthy food options, while renewing and protecting the planet by supporting local small-scale produce farmers. Today, we provide food-insecure families with regular and consistent weekly access to fresh, healthy, nutrient- dense seasonal produce otherwise not easily accessible. We support local small-scale farmers by creating reliable sales channels for the nourishing food they grow. Our vision is a thriving, resilient local food system that provides all community members with access to high-quality, nutrient-dense produce and helps local small-scale farms thrive.
