Story-teller, Advocate, Content Creator and Photographer, Jacqui O’Leary founded ‘Community Matters Media’ in 2016, as a freelance Media/Comms and Photography provider, focusing on telling the ‘stories that matter’ in the community and giving a voice to the voiceless, with a passion for care, advocacy and relationships. In 2024, Jacqui further refined her brand through a capacity-building strategic approach, with a niche suite of services targeted at partnering with local Community Services organisations.

She would work alongside them to drive advocacy and awareness, engage audiences, execute high-impact campaigns, and deliver on brand objectives, whilst upskilling staff by filling gaps and addressing budgeting constraints that co-exist with the sector. Jacqui believes that everybody has a great story waiting to be told, but not everyone knows what to do with it. With a heart for social justice, Jacqui is passionate about influencing change and advocating for people who don’t have a voice. She leads with the desire to empower people and affect systematic change for the better, particularly through her advocacy work.

 ‘Community Creatives’ was launched in mid-2024, which reflected Jacqui’s love for discussing challenging subjects in a meaningful and connected way, diversifying her connection more broadly as a ‘Creative Professional’, and upskilling and empowering others, through creative arts, self-expression, and holistic approaches to mental health management, sustainability, recovery and wellness.
