Mike Shields

Mike Shields is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in research and data management. Currently serving as a Managing Associate I at Community Science since August 2023, Mike previously held the role of Research Director and Project Manager at the Economy League of Greater Philadelphia from November 2018 to July 2023. Prior to that, Mike worked as a Data Consultant and Researcher at the Boston Area Research Initiative from August 2016 to November 2018, providing expertise in research design and data analysis. Earlier experience includes serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and Graduate Research Assistant at Northeastern University from September 2013 to August 2016, focusing on NIH-funded projects in the public health sector. Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology from Elizabethtown College, as well as both a Master of Arts and a Doctor of Philosophy in Sociology from Northeastern University.
