John Ford has extensive experience in leadership and strategic development within various organizations. Currently serving as the Executive Director at Commute.org since February 2012, John has held significant roles in the past, including Board Member on the Workforce Investment Board for San Mateo County, where involvement included serving on the Executive Committee and chairing the Board Development Committee. John was also President/CEO of the Millbrae Chamber of Commerce from January 2003 to February 2012 and a Partner at F Squared Consulting, providing strategic planning and financial management to privately-owned firms. Earlier career highlights include serving as VP of Business Strategy at D.W. Smith & Associates. John holds an Executive MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, a BA in Economics from the University of California, Davis, and an MBA in PKE Business Administration from Pepperdine University.

Commute.org
We are San Mateo County’s Transportation Demand Management Agency. Our mission is to reduce the number of single-occupancy vehicles traveling in San Mateo County, reducing vehicle emissions resulting in improved air quality. Commute.org is a joint powers agency and is funded by the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County, the San Mateo County Transportation Authority, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. Commute.org is dedicated to addressing the challenges involved in getting to and from work in San Mateo County. Our goal is to help people find ways to get to work that are faster, cheaper, and/or easier through commuter information, employer programs, and city transportation demand management partnerships. A major strength of the agency is its ability to deal with transportation issues through its extensive network of allies. Creating partnerships provides the power to relieve traffic congestion in San Mateo County.
