Derek Chen

Derek Chen is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software development and management. At Compal, from January 1998 to January 2012, Derek served as Senior SW Director and Acting VP, overseeing operations across three divisions in Taipei and four in China, managing a total of 300 engineers focused on the development of automation equipment for manufacturing and R&D. Prior to this, Derek held the position of Software Development Director, leading projects in NB BIOS, Android software development, and advanced research in various operating systems. Earlier career roles included Senior Engineer at Phoenix Technologies and BIOS Engineer at Twinhead Corporation, where work involved contributions to Phoenix BIOS and AMI BIOS. Derek holds a B.S. Degree in Computer Science from TKU, earned in January 1990.
