ব্যাঙের ছাতার বিজ্ঞান (BCB) is a Bengali science organization and community dedicated to promoting scientific thinking and countering superstition and misinformation. Founded as an online movement, BCB aims to make science accessible and engaging for everyone, especially Bengali-speaking audiences. The name "ব্যাঙের ছাতার (Frog’s Umbrella)" reflects the idea of bringing knowledge to light in a playful, relatable way—just as mushrooms (called frog’s umbrellas in Bengali) appear suddenly after rain, BCB seeks to spark curiosity and critical thinking in everyday life. 

BCB publishes “Bangachi”, a free digital magazine that covers diverse topics such as physics, mathematics, astronomy, environment, and science fiction. Through articles, books, and educational resources—all freely available online—it helps readers understand the world through evidence-based explanations. The group also runs a Myth Busting project that identifies and debunks false claims and pseudoscientific beliefs common in society. 

Beyond writing, BCB maintains a strong digital presence with educational articles, videos, discussions, and science storytelling on social media and YouTube. Our slogan, “If you want to live, you must think,” captures our mission: to inspire logical reasoning, encourage questioning, and build a culture of scientific literacy across Bangladesh and the Bengali-speaking world.
