John Quartel

John Quartel is a seasoned professional in the field of imaging science with extensive experience spanning over two decades. Currently serving as VP of Imaging Science at Company 3 since November 2018, Quartel previously held the position of Director of Image Science at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group and worked as Technical Director at Company 3. Commodious expertise was gained at FilmLight as an R&D Manager, where leadership in developing metadata indexing and asset management systems was essential. Earlier roles involved significant technology development, notably on the Truelight colour management system and the Northlight film scanners. Quartel's academic foundation includes a PhD in Physics from Imperial College London and a BSc in Physics from the University of Sydney, supported by research on advanced optics and publications in peer-reviewed journals.
