Mityatzvim El HaDegel was founded in 2024 in response to the October 7th attacks and the subsequent war. It was created to address the urgent need for targeted, tailored support for ultra-Orthodox men and women who enlist in general IDF units.
The sacrifice of 15 ultra-Orthodox soldiers who served in general IDF units, fell in battle underscored their unwavering patriotism and the immense contribution they make to Israel’s security. Yet, despite their dedication, these soldiers lack the support systems available to others, making their journey particularly difficult. Mityatzvim El HaDegel ensures these brave enlistees not only integrate into the IDF but also gain the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to thrive long after their military service.
