Dan O'Brien

Dan O'Brien is a seasoned professional in economic consulting and antitrust regulation, currently serving as a Senior Consultant at Econic Partners, LLC since February 2025 and as a Senior Consultant at Compass Lexecon since October 2017, where Dan also holds the title of Executive Vice President. O'Brien has held prominent academic positions, including Adjunct Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, and Visiting Professor of Business Economics at Indiana University - Kelley School of Business. With significant experience at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice, O'Brien has contributed to economic policy as a Senior Economic Policy Adviser and Chief of the Economic Regulatory Section. O'Brien's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University and a BA in Economics from Carleton College.
