James Watson

James Watson is an experienced IT professional and entrepreneur, currently serving as the Owner of CompassMSP since July 2025. Prior to this role, James held the position of CEO at BlackPoint IT Services from April 2005 to August 2025, overseeing a managed IT services firm that catered to small to mid-sized companies in the western United States, with a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service. Earlier in James's career, positions included Program Manager at Microsoft, contributing to the Visual Studio and SQL Server teams from November 1996 to September 2006. James Watson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance, Economics, and Accounting from McMaster University, attended from 1986 to 1990, and graduated from Evan Hardy Collegiate from 1983 to 1986.
