Joseph Ryan McCowan, Psy.D, currently serves on the Board of Directors and as a Supervisor at Lykos Therapeutics, supporting therapist training in MDMA-Assisted Therapy since December 2019. McCowan is also the Lead Educator and a Phase III Therapist in a study on MDMA-Assisted Therapy for PTSD with the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS). Additionally, McCowan holds the position of Lead Therapist at Compass Pathways and serves as Training Faculty at Fluence since April 2021, along with previously being a Clinical Psychologist at the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy from May 2021 to October 2023, and at St. Joseph Center from August 2017 to May 2021. McCowan's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and a Psy.D in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
