Max Ahmed currently serves as Associate Director and previously as Senior Research Scientist at COMPASS Pathways since March 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Principal Scientist at Aquila BioMedical, where leadership in neuroscience research programs was provided, and as a Research Associate at The University of Edinburgh, focusing on developmental and regenerative neuroscience. Max also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Twente, specializing in bioengineered platforms for tissue repair. Earlier career experiences include serving as a Perfusionist at NHS Blood and Transplant and interning as a Research Chemist at ICI Paints. Max holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and an MRes in Biophysics, both from UCL.
