Steven Levine

Vice President of Patient Access at COMPASS Pathways

A board-certified psychiatrist by training, Steve completed his residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill-Cornell Medical Center, followed by fellowship subspecialty training in psycho-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Though a clinician who identifies as a therapist first, he was motivated by the lack of rapid-acting and effective options for his treatment refractory patients to pioneer the clinical use of ketamine for mood and anxiety disorders.

Steve founded and was Chief Medical Officer of Actify Neurotherapies, a psychiatric services company delivering digital to interventional treatments in a single care continuum in 10 locations in 8 US states. He published and presented outcomes data around the world for thousands of patients, was the architect of innovative models of care that brought together stakeholders from payors, health systems, and industry, and continues to advise mental health startups and not-for-profits on treatment innovation.
