Mike Simonsen is the Chief Economist at Compass, where they help the world understand the US housing market. Previously, Mike was the Founder and CEO of Altos Research, which they led for nearly two decades until its acquisition by HW Media in 2022. During their tenure at Altos, Mike pioneered the development of real-time data that empowered real estate professionals and large financial firms. Mike has a BS from the University of Nevada and an MBA from DePaul University in Chicago. They also serve as an advisor and investor for various PropTech startups and are actively involved with the Entrepreneurs Organization in San Francisco.
