A.e. Eiben

Scientific Advisor at Complexica

A.E. Eiben received his Ph.D. degree from the Eindhoven University of Technology in the Netherlands. He is one of Europe’s “early birds” of Evolutionary Computing, with his first paper dating back to 1989. Since then, he’s became one of Europe’s leading Evolutionary Computing researchers, actively pursuing research related to evolutionary operators, constraint handling, parameter calibration, and most recently evolutionary robotics.

A.E. Eiben has published over 200 research papers, and co-authored the first comprehensive book on evolutionary computing (Introduction to Evolutionary Computing published by Springer). He has been an organizing committee member of practically all major international evolutionary conferences (CEC, EP, EuroGP, EvoStar, FOGA, GECCO, PPSN), and is the specialty Chief Editor of Evolutionary Robotics for Frontiers Journal on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.
