Niko T. is a Data Protection Specialist at the Council of the European Union since March 2023. Concurrently, Niko T. serves as a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, contributing legal expertise to two EPSRC-funded projects: PLEAD, which focuses on explaining automated decision-making processes, and UMIS, which develops a data protection by design framework for Mobility-as-a-Service systems. Niko T. has also worked on the EU Horizon2020 project FutureTrust, aiding in the implementation of the eIDAS regulation and promoting interoperability of electronic identification services. Previous roles include Information Technology Support Analyst at the University of Westminster and Legal Counsel at Kontemeniotis & Associates Advocates. Niko T. holds a PhD in Privacy and Data Protection from the University of Southampton, alongside master's degrees in Web Science and International and Commercial Dispute Resolution Law, and a Bachelor of Laws from Democritus University of Thrace.
