Kirk Smallwood

Senior Vice President, Industry Engagement at CompTIA

Kirk Smallwood has extensive experience in the technology industry, with a focus on business development and strategic partnerships. Kirk currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Industry Engagement at CompTIA, where they have been since 2014. Prior to this role, they held positions such as Senior Vice President of Business Development and Vice President of Business Development for The Americas. In these roles, they worked closely with educational institutions and training organizations to support students in preparing for IT careers through the use of industry-recognized certifications. Before joining CompTIA, Smallwood worked for the Creating IT Futures Foundation as the Director of Corporate Relations, where they helped develop a workforce development program called IT-Ready. Kirk has also held positions at the Consumer Technology Association, where they managed sales operations, and American Paging, Inc., where they worked as an Account Executive.

Kirk Smallwood obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from James Madison University from 1987 to 1991. Prior to that, they received their High School Diploma from Patrick Henry High School from 1985 to 1987. In addition, they hold a certification in CompTIA IT Fundamentals from CompTIA.
