As a graduate from the highly acclaimed Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Julie began her career in management consulting for Arthur Andersen and later PricewaterhouseCoopers. She got the entrepreneurial bug when she worked for a very successful Chicago entrepreneur who wanted to start his own real estate investment business. After setting up a new business for him, she decided she wanted to own and operate her own business.
Julie’s love of children and education led her to CompuChild. She and her husband purchased the business in 2008 and Julie operated it as President and CEO till 2019. When Julie started, CompuChild’s after-school enrichment programs were focused on educating kids about computers. Over time, she broadened CompuChild’s mission to focus on STEM. As researchers discovered the value of art in driving various science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, she felt that expanding CompuChild’s mission even further to focus on STEAM will help spread technology education among
kids who otherwise may not have been excited about learning science through traditional techniques used in a typical classroom environment.
With her strong background in finance and over 10 years of experience in running CompuChild, Julie now assists the current franchisor and President Shubhra Kant in improving franchisee operations and franchise development.
