Yu Liang

Director, Clinical Biomarker at Compugen

Yu Liang's work experience includes roles as a Director, Clinical Biomarker at Compugen since 2020 and as a Consultant for various companies such as Life Science Strategy Group, Atheneum, Guidepoint, Dexter, and GLG from 2020 to 2020. Prior to that, Yu Liang worked as a Director, Translational Sciences, Oncology at Ipsen from 2019 to 2020, where they led a translational science team and implemented a clinical biomarkers testing program. From 2016 to 2019, Yu Liang served as a Director, Clinical Biomarkers at Calithera Biosciences, leading biomarker programs and clinical trials for drugs targeting amino acid metabolism. They also have experience as a Clinical Biomarker Scientific Manager at Translational Medicine & Clinical Biomarker Program, AbbVie (Pharmacyclics, LLC) from 2014 to 2016, where they supported multiple hematology-oncology clinical trials. Prior to that, Yu Liang worked as a Staff Scientist at the Division of Molecular Medicine, Molecular Diagnostics, Life Technologies from 2005 to 2013, leading various assay projects and technology transfers. They also served as an Assistant Researcher at the Brain Tumor Research Center, UCSF Medical Center from 2001 to 2005, conducting research on gene expression profiling and biomarkers in brain tumor patients. Yu Liang's earlier experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Neurosurgery, UCSF from 1999 to 2001, conducting gene expression profiling, and as a Pre-doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Pharmacology, NYU Langone Medical Center from 1993 to 1999, researching glypican ligands and heparan sulfate proteoglycans. They also worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, Academia Sinica in 1992, studying adenosine receptors and small GTP-binding proteins.

Yu Liang received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from NYU Grossman School of Medicine from 1993 to 1999. Prior to that, from 1986 to 1990, Yu Liang obtained a B.A. in Plant Pathology and Entomology from National Taiwan University.
