Jim Townsend

Jim Townsend is an accomplished engineering professional with extensive experience in mechanical design and project management. Currently serving as the Director of Mechanical Engineering at Comtech Telecommunications Corp. since October 2011, Jim leads and mentors a mechanical design team while developing innovative products. Prior roles include Engineering Manager at Comtech Systems, Inc., Sr. Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager at Brijot Imaging Systems (now Microsemi), and Hardware Engineer III/Sr. Mechanical Engineer at NCR Corporation. Jim began the career as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Invivo Research, Inc. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Design Engineering from the University of Central Florida, along with an Associate of Arts Degree from St. Johns River Community College.
