Eric Spitler is a seasoned research scientist with extensive experience in materials chemistry, particularly in the development of innovative products for various industries. Currently serving as the Sr. Research Scientist at Conamix since January 2022, Eric invented polymer-ceramic composite electrolyte protected lithium anodes that significantly enhance the cycle life of lithium-sulfur batteries. Previous roles include Research Chemist at Gentex Corporation, where Eric designed redox-active polymers for electrochromic devices, and Scientist at LANXESS, focusing on flame retardants. Eric also held positions as Sr. Research Scientist at Solvay, where advancements in OLED host molecules were achieved, and at PPG Industries, where over 270 photochromic dyes for ophthalmic lenses were synthesized. Eric's academic background includes a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Oregon and a BS in Chemistry from The Ohio State University.
