Senior System Database Engineer at Concept Solutions

Neil Brown has a extensive work experience in the field of IT and systems administration. Neil started their career as a Jr Tech at UUNET in 1995, followed by roles as a Unix Systems Administrator at WorldCom from 1997 to 1999, and as a Systems Administrator at Exodus Communications in 1999.

In 2001, Neil joined NCS Pearson as an IT Analyst, where they provided Solaris server configuration and installation support, Unix Administration, Windows desktop support, inventory tracking, and helpdesk support. Neil worked on the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) contract and was responsible for system hardware maintenance and monitoring.

From 2002 to 2005, Neil worked as a Systems Administrator at Crown Consulting, supporting the FAA Sun Microsystems development server environment and providing Sun Solaris Systems Administration and hardware engineering support.

In 2005, Neil joined Concept Solutions, LLC as a Sr. Systems Administrator. Over the years, they held various roles including Operations Manager, Lead Database Administrator for the FAA ADAPT program, Project Lead/Senior Database Administrator for the FAA SOC program, and Security Support Lead for the FAA NAS-DW program. In these roles, they were responsible for database installations, support, monitoring, and maintenance, as well as system monitoring, project management, and security assessments.

In their most recent role at Concept Solutions, Neil served as the Corporate Infrastructure Manager, where they supported overall infrastructure needs, server hardware and network system upgrades, database upgrade rotations, and introduced virtual technology and cloud computing environments through migrations and the use of VMWare software and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Throughout their career, Neil has demonstrated strong technical skills, project management abilities, and a focus on infrastructure and systems support in the IT industry.

Neil Brown attended Strayer University from 2009 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Database Management.
