David Behrend MS CPP has over 30 years of experience in federal law enforcement. David started their career as a Senior Special Agent for the U.S. Department of the Treasury - ATF in 1987 and worked there for 12 years. David then joined the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - FLETC in 1999 as a Deputy Chief and Supervisory Criminal Investigator. In 2002, they became the Chief and Supervisory Criminal Investigator for the Special Investigations and Security Division at FLETC, where they served until their retirement in 2013. After retiring, they worked as an Instructor and Law Enforcement Specialist at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - FLETC from 2013 to 2016. David also had a brief stint as an NCIS Special Agent and Instructor at the Naval Criminal Investigative Service in 2015 and 2016. Since 2016, they have been working as a Program Manager/Lead at the Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC).
David Behrend MS CPP earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and History from Defiance College, where they studied from 1982 to 1986. David later pursued their Master of Science in Criminal Justice from The University of Alabama, completing the program from 1992 to 1994. In addition to their formal education, David Behrend MS CPP has obtained certifications such as the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) from the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) in May 2008 and the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) from the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) in September 1997.
