JJ Jock has worked in the IT field since 1984, beginning their career in the US Navy as a CTR1. In 1997, they moved to South Plains College as a Computer Technology Specialist, managing a 250 node Novell NetWare local area network with associated desktop computers and peripherals. In 1998, they joined Texas Tech University as a PC/Network Support Specialist, providing second level support for the campus-wide network. In 2000, JJ started at Industrial Molding Corporation as a Network/Systems Engineer, administering a 200-node Ethernet network and managing corporate e-mail, file backup, fax server, proxy server and time server systems. In 2001, they returned to Texas Tech University as an Enterprise Network Support II, dispatching technicians for network equipment troubleshooting and repair. Finally, in 2007, JJ joined CoNetrix as a Senior Network Engineer and Network Engineer Team Lead, providing customer support for Cisco, Microsoft Client/Server, VMware, Terminal Server and Wireless systems, as well as responsible for the successful implementation of quality of service (QoS) for a customer's phone system communications across the local area network (LAN)/wide area network (WAN).
JJ Jock completed their high school diploma from Salmon River Central School in 1981. In 2012, they obtained the 4011 Recognition certification from the CNSS Committee on National Security Systems.
