Confindustria Romagna è una componente del Sistema Confindustria: il valore base che ne ispira l'azione è la convinzione che la libera impresa ed il libero esercizio dell'attività economica, in un contesto di economia di mercato, siano fattori di sviluppo e di progresso per l'intera società.
Confindustria si propone di contribuire alla crescita non solo economica, ma anche civile e sociale del Paese; a questo fine rappresenta le esigenze e le proposte del sistema economico italiano nei confronti delle Istituzioni politiche ed amministrative, delle organizzazioni sindacali e delle altre forze sociali.
Il Sistema confederale ha tra i propri valori fondanti autonomia ed indipendenza, garantite tra l'altro da regole di incompatibilità tra cariche associative ed incarichi politici ed amministrativi.
L'Associazione Industriali appartiene agli imprenditori, che partecipano all'attività associativa attraverso gli organismi direttivi, commissioni operative e gruppi di lavoro specifici.
E'​ un'Associazione per tutte le imprese, perché i problemi che oggi le imprese si trovano ad affrontare in materia sindacale, fiscale, ambientale, commerciale o finanziaria sono in gran parte gli stessi indipendentemente dal settore d'appartenenza e dalla dimensione.
La dimensione ridotta amplifica però la necessità di supporto: difficilmente le piccole imprese possono avere al proprio interno le competenze indispensabili a garantirsi lo standard di qualità che le sfide sempre più complesse della competizione globale impongono.
Gli scopi dell'Associazione possono essere ricondotti a due filoni principali:
- Rapporto con le Pubbliche Amministrazioni e le rappresentanze economiche, politiche, sindacali e sociali;
- Assistenza alle imprese per favorirne lo sviluppo e il miglioramento: internazionalizzazione, ricerca, controllo di gestione, certificazione di qualità, digitalizzazione, sono alcuni dei terreni su cui l'Associazione accompagna le aziende affinché rafforzino la propria competitività.
